“Such a little island. Such a lot of history” writes Ron Hayes in his article in the Coastal Star Newspaper’s April 2017 edition. An interesting read about Hypoluxo Island’s past including a now little remembered circulation lovingly called the “Brown Wrapper.” So named for being printed on brown paper and wrapped around the Palm Beach Post-Times, the “Brown Wrapper” was in production from 1977 until 1985. According to the article a new edition of this will be in the works and organized through the Hypoluxo Island Property Owners Association. It is said to include some interesting history of the area and the association’s current president Michelle Donahue is quoted in the article stating “We’re just trying to bring you back to what brought people here to begin with. The beauty and wonder of it all.” We couldn’t agree more – Isn’t that what brings year-round residents and snowbirds a like to Florida?
