Annual Tree Lighting – Palm Beach

Kicking off the Christmas season, two festively decorated Christmas trees were lit yesterday in Palm Beach. With the help of the town’s mayor, Gail Coniglio, and a number of kids, the 12 foot Christmas Tree in Town Square sparkled beautifully. The festive mood was underlined with glittering, light wrapped palm trees and beautiful and uplifting Christmas carols sung by the Kings Academy’s choir.  Santa arrived in style making a grand entrance on a town’s fire truck. Naturally he was quickly greeted with lots of excitement! The tree lighting was a great way to show off some of the improvements made to the newly revitalized square.  Following shortly after was the Worth Avenue’s tree lighting during which “all the town council members stood on an elevated platform outside the entrance to Via Amore to lead the count-down to light the 40-foot artificial Christmas tree”(as Gregory Cox wrote in his Palm Beach Daily News article November 30th, 2016.)

For now there will not be a ceremony to light the Bradley Park tree. With the construction under way and hopefully coming to the final stretch for the North Bridge, as well as the Royal Poinciana Plaza, the tree will be lit automatically for now.  Everyone is anxiously awaiting the construction finish as well as the revamp at the Plaza in weeks to come!!
